Gmail Redesign No Longer Optional.
Posted by Trindy Oakley
Gmail Redesign is here!
Google has been very busy updating, cleaning and improving its user interfaces across numerous products including the Google+ new look. The Gmail redesign was announced in November 2010, however users continued to have the option of reverting back to the old look.
I use Google Apps for Business to host my business email accounts, when I first opt-in to the new look, I wasn’t impressed. It took quite a while to customise the interface and get used to a few of the small changes. Now that I’ve been using it for months, I’ve become quite accustomed to it. Love it.
In the Mashable write up they quote James Fallows of The Atlantic as one of the users putting off switching to the new look. He laments the changeover, calling it “the forced ‘improvement’ of something that wasn’t broken,” an opinion that’s been echoed on Twitter throughout the product’s prolonged unveiling.
Like any major redesign, there are users that will love it, users that loath it and users who think nothing of it. Find out what the Mashable readers think of the new change on their write up.
For those of you who, like me are not a fan of the wide spacing – you can alter those settings here:
